Manika Batra to be chief guest at Goa Table Tennis finals on Dec 30

Panaji: Goa Table Tennis Association has invited Manika Batra, the current Commonwealth champion and the winner of "Breakthrough Award by International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF)" for her excellent performance in the world, as Chief Guest at State Table Tennis Finals to be played at Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium near the city on December 30, 2019.
Addressing a press conference at a resort near the city, Goa Table Tennis Association President Vero Nunes said Manika's presence would inspire the youngsters as she would be exhibiting her trade mark back hand stroke when she flips the racket from pimpled rubber to regular rubber during the rally, putting the opponent in confusion as the ball is returned in different spin. 
 
Manika would also interact with the budding Goan players, reciting to them her exiting journey from a talented hardworking youngster to becoming the Star Commonwealth Gold champion besides National champion.
 
''Table Tennis players will be excited to see India's top women's paddler in action when she exhibits her skills during the finals of the State TT Championship to be held at Dr SPM Stadium, Taleigao plateau on December 30, 2019,'' he said.(UNI)
