As the excitement of the WTC final has been skyrocketing so as the ticket prices. The latest we hear from the official sources that a cric buff has to shell an amount of 15,360 rupees to watch the live action of India taking on Newzealand at Southampton.
Despite the whopping ticket price, there is a huge demand for the ticket as a true cricketer wishes to cherish the moments of the very first world championship final before it turns into a memory for him. Also, the crowd in the stadium have returned after a long gap of two years. The last time audience was allowed in a cricket match was way back in September 2019.
ICC has allowed 4000 spectators to sit in the stadium and watch the penultimate clash of India vs Newzealand. A decent turnout was also witnessed in the recently concluded England vs Newzealand series.
A stipulated 2000 tickets were kept to sold among the audience and one ticket had a cost of 150 pounds which is 15,360 rupees in Indian currency. The 5 fold of this ticket price is around 1 lakh rupees. According to the reports published in the British media, the tickets were sold via a lucky draw. Few are reselling it at an inflated price of 2 lakhs, and interestingly they are getting the buyers.
Whooping amount will be give to the finalists Earlier, ICC annouced that The winner of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final between India and New Zealand will take home a purse of 1.6 million dollar along with the Test Championship mace.
The losing team will get 800,000 dollar for finishing second in the nine-team competition, which was played over a near two-year cycle, adding context to Test cricket and to crown the first official world champions in the longest format of the game. In a case of a draw or a tie the prize money will be divided.
The prize money for the team finishing third in the ICC World Test Championship Standings is 450,000 dollar.
The team fourth on the table will be awarded 350,000 dollar, the one that finishes fifth gets 200,000 dollar while the remaining four teams will get 100,000 dollar each.
