Jakarta: India’s ace shuttler P V Sindhu’s seventh month title drought crashed down after losing to Akane Yamaguchi in the finals of the Indonesia Open here on Sunday.

Sindhu last win was at the BWF Word Tour finals in December. The Olympic silver medalist lost 15-21, 16-21 to her Japanese opponent a match that lasted 51 minutes.

In 15 encounters, this was Sindhu’s fifth defeat against the Japanese. Last year Sindhu was beaten by Yamaguchi in the semi-finals of the All England Championship. (UNI)
