Leeds: Imad Wasim brilliant unbeaten 49 off 54 (5 fours), Babar Azam 45 off 51 (5 fours) and Shaheen Shah Afridi 4/47 helped Pakistan beat Afghanistan by 3 wickets in a thrilling contest keeping semi-final hopes alive in the ICC Cricket World Cup on Saturday.

Imad Wasim 49 off 54 (5 fours) and Wahab Riaz 15 off 9 (1four, 1 six) remained unbeaten and chased 228 target scoring 230 in 49.4 overs.

Meanwhile Pakistan are now in 4th place on the points table, a point ahead of England. Pakistan from 8 matches have won 4 and lost 3 now have 9 points. (UNI)
