Pakistan whitewashes Zimbabwe in test series by 2-0

Harare:Pacer Shaheen Afridi completed his five-for as Pakistan thrashed Zimbabwe by an innings and 147 runs in the second Test to sweep the Test series 2-0, at Harare Sports Club on Monday.
 
Trailing behind by 158 runs, Zimbabwe’s final pair, Luke Jongwe, and Blessing Muzarabani resisted 61 deliveries on Day 4. Shaheen Afridi, took the final wicket to complete his five-wicket haul by dismissing Jongwe (37) as Zimbabwe were bowled out for 231 in their second innings.
Pakistan controlled the match from the start and posted 510-8 declared after batting first, with 215 not out from opener Abid Ali and 126 from Azhar Ali.
 
The bowlers then went to work and were also dominant, with Hasan Ali collecting 5-27 in 13 overs as Pakistan bowled Zimbabwe out for 132 in its first innings and made the home team follow on.
 
The visitors also created a record during their victory, it was the first instance for three bowlers to pick up a five-for each in the same Test for Pakistan.
 
Abid Ali was awarded Player of the Match for his double ton while Hasan Ali was graced with Player of the Series for picking 14 wickets and two five-wicket hauls across the two Tests.
