PM lauds all Indian Olympians on Olympic Day, says nation is proud of their contributions to sports

New Delhi:Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday appreciated all those who have represented India in various Olympics over the years and said the nation is proud of their contributions to sports.
'Today, on Olympic Day, I appreciate all those who have represented India in various Olympics over the years. Our nation is proud of their contributions to sports and their efforts towards motivating other athletes,' the Prime Minister said in a tweet.
 
'In a few weeks, @Tokyo2020begins. Wishing the very best to our contingent, which consists of our finest athletes. In the run up to the games, here is an interesting quiz on MyGov. Chief Minister of Sikkim Prem Singh Tamang has conveyed greetings and to the people of Sikkim on the historic occasion of International Olympic Day and has urged the youth to actively take part in various games and sports activities so that besides healthy environment they get a chance to be noticed by the renowned associations.

CM Tamang has congratulated the Sports Department, Govt. of Sikkim for launch of ‘Road to Tokyo Olympics 2020’ in collaboration with the Sports Authority of India. A month-long program sensitizing and creating awareness among the people about the Olympics movement to be started today.(UNI)
