Rain delays start of first Test match between India and Sri Lanka at Eden Gardens

Kolkata: Light drizzle forced the CAB authorities to keep cover on the outfield and pitch at Eden Gardens resulting in the delay of the start of the first Test match between India and Sri Lanka today.

The 5-day Test was scheduled to start at 0930 hours and toss around 0900 hours. As per the latest report both the teams took an early lunch at 12:30 pm. The covers on the ground was taken off, and after inspection ground was adjourned apt for the play at 1:30 pm. Srilanka won the toss and decided to bowl first. (UNI)
