Young Mumbai batsman Sarfaraz Khan's fourth century of this season kept the 41-time Ranji champions Mumbai in the hunt. He was star of the day as he scored 134 off 243 balls and went past 900 runs and looked hungry to join the elite 1000 runs club in a season that includes a great like Sachin Tendulkar. In the 2019-20 season he had amassed 928 runs in nine innings of six matches.
In the press interaction after match, talking about the gesture Sarfaraz said, “This was for Sidhu Moosewala. I love his songs and mostly me and Hardik Tamore (keeper) listen to his songs. I did a similar kind of celebration during an earlier match, but then, the broadcasters didn't show it. I had decided once I score another hundred, I would repeat the celebration,” quoted PTI.
The Punjabi singer was shot dead by unidentified assailants in his car on May 29, 2022, in Jawaharke village of Mansa district.
