Dhaka: India have released wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant from the squad for the ODI series against Bangladesh and have handed a debut to Kuldeep Sen for the opening match of the series.
Pant was released after consultation with BCCI medical staff. He will join the team ahead of the two-match Test series in Bangladesh later this month, the BCCI said in a statement.
There is no room for Axar Patel in the final XI either, with the BCCI indicating that the all-rounder was not available for selection for the first ODI.
The absence of Pant means KL Rahul to keep wickets in Mirpur on Sunday, with Kuldeep earning a debut after an impressive IPL tournament for Rajasthan Royals earlier this year. (UNI)
