Road Safety World Series: India Legends to meet Bangladesh Legends in opener on March 5

Mumbai: India Legends will take on new entrant Bangladesh Legends in the first match of the Unacademy Road Safety World Series at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium in Raipur on March 5.

England Legends will open their account against Bangladesh Legends on March 7.

All the matches will start at 1900 hrs and will be played every day till the first semi-final on March 17, and second semi-final on March 19. The final will be played on March 21.

The newly-built stadium in Raipur, having capacity to house 65,000 people, will be open for 50 per cent attendance, as per the SoP issued by the Central government.

The first edition of the series had to be called off after four games on March 11, 2020, due to the COVID-19 situation worldwide.

An array of stars, including Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Brian Lara, Tilakratne Dilshan, Muttiah Muralitharan and many more legends of six cricket playing nations - England, South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies, Bangladesh and host India - will be back in the field to recreate the magic of old in the annual T20 cricket tournament.

The T20 cricket tournament aims to create awareness towards road safety in the country by changing people’s mind set towards their behaviour on the roads.

The Road Safety World Series is an initiative by the Road Safety Cell of Maharashtra, in association with the Professional Management Group (PMG), spearheaded by Little Master Sunil Gavaskar as the Commissioner of the Series and Sachin Tendulkar as the Brand Ambassador of the League.

All matches will be Live on COLORS Cineplex, COLORS Kannada Cinema, FTA channel Rishtey Cineplex and live stream on VOOT and Jio. (UNI)
