New Delhi: If you are a cricket fan and missing cricket fever after the culmination of ICC cricket world cup 2019, this is a good news for you.The inaugural World Test Championship is starting Next month.
The revamped Future Tours Programme (FTP), starting with the Ashes series in England and India’s tour of West Indies (Test Matches) , will see teams play three home and away series over a two-year cycle. The top two teams will then progress to a June 2021 final.
The long-awaited Championship, involving the nine top-ranked test nations competing in a league between Aug 1, 2019 to April 30, 2021, has been designed to give more meaning to test series for cricket fans.
The final league game of the Championship is set to take place in April, 2021, with Sri Lanka hosting the touring West Indies in a two-test series.
ICC chief executive David Richardson said the new schedule would provide context around all bilateral international fixtures.

Each series carry 120 points be it a 2 or 5 match test series.
Each team can score maximum 720 points in the championship.
Unlike the ODI World cup, teams won’t be able to play equal no. of matches.
