Shubman Gill receives first jab of COVID-19 vaccine

New Delhi:Indian cricketer Shubman Gill on Saturday received the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine.The young Test opening batsman took to Twitter to share a photo of himself getting vaccinated.
"Get your superpowers upgraded as soon as you are able to. Massive shoutout to all the doctors and frontline workers for putting in all the effort,' Gill wrote on Twitter along with picture.
 
Apart from Gill, Rishabh Pant, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, Cheteshwar Pujara, Umesh Yadav, Ishant Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah have already taken the first dose of the COVID 19 vaccine at different centres in the country.
 
Head coach Ravi Shastri was the first from the Indian cricket team to receive the vaccine. He got his first jab in the first week of March, when vaccination was made open for all senior citizens.
 
Last month, the government announced vaccination for all those above the age of 18 years in the third phase of nation's Covid-19 vaccination drive that started from May 1.(UNI)
