South Africa stand-in captain Temba Bavuma ruled out of first ODI against Afghanistan, THIS player to lead the team

Sharjah: South Africa will be without Temba Bavuma for the first ODI against Afghanistan in Sharjah on Wednesday.
 
The Proteas skipper has been ruled out of the game with an illness with Aiden Markram set to lead the side in his absence, an ICC report said.
 
This ODI series is the first meeting between Afghanistan and South Africa outside of ICC tournaments. The last time these two teams met was in the semi-finals of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024.
 
South Africa will play the ODI series in UAE against Afghanistan following which they are also scheduled to take on Ireland in ODIs and T20Is in Abu Dhabi.
