Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) has announced a grant of Rs 2 crore to World Boxing Champion Nikhat Zareen to meet her expenses for training, coaching and transportation to participate in the Olympic Games.
Nikhat paid a courtesy call on the CM at the Secretariat here.
On the occasion, KCR wished that tthe World Boxing Champion will win gold medal in the upcoming Olympics and spread the glory of India including Telangana to the world once again.
The CM said the state Government will provide full support to Nikhat Zareen, who has already won many medals on many world platforms, to participate in the upcoming Olympic games.
KCR ordered Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari to take action in this regard.
State Sports Minister V. Srinivas Goud along with Ministers Mahmood Ali, Prashanth Reddy, Mallar Reddy, Sports Authority Chairman E Anjaneya Goud, Sports Secretary Sandeep Sultania and other officials also present. (UNI)
