Srinagar: Days after she won the gold medal in the World Kickboxing Championship held in Egypt's Cairo, Kashmiri girl Tajamul Islam has expressed her desire to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi to seek his blessings for her future assignments.
In a video, which has gone viral now on social media, the two-time kickboxing champion is seen requesting Prime Minister and Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur for a meeting to get their blessings.
"This is a humble request from me to our prime minister and to our sports minister of India that our Indian team and KFI wanna met both of you sir. Please give your precious time to us and We want blessings from both of you for our future journey," she wrote on Twitter.
She also tagged the PM and Sports Minister in the tweet.
"Its my humble request to the Prime Minister and Sports Minister to meet us so that we can get your blessings before reaching the Olympics and make the country proud here," Tajamul said in the video.
"Our team, KFI, wants to meet you Sir, please bless by giving your precious time from your busy schedule," she urged the PM.
In the video, she thanked everyone, especially people in Jammu and Kashmir, for showering praise, love and supporting her.
Tajamul Islam, a 13-year-old girl from Bandipora district of Kashmir, had won gold in Kickboxing Championship in Cairo, Egypt, last month.
She runs her own sports academy in Bandipora, where she trains hundreds of young girls to compete in Kickboxing.
She has also won several medals at the district, state, national and International-level in the sub-junior category. (UNI)
