VIDEO: Shaheen Shah Afridi gives special gift to Jasprit Bumrah for becoming father

Colombo: Fans would have rued over the calling off the first day's play of the third Super 4 match of Asia Cup due to rains, they nevertheless had had something to cheer about when Pakistan's Shaheen Afridi and India's Jasprit Bumrah had a pitch-side chat just before leaving to their respective hotels from R Premadasa Stadium here on Sunday.
 
A video, in this regard, has gone viral on social media. It shows both Bumrah and Shaheen are walking towards each other at the stadium, and the Pakistani pacer giving the Indian quickie a special gift to congratulate him for becoming father of a child.
 
Shaheen is heard saying to Bumrah, "Bhai bahut bahut mubarak ho. Yeh tere sehzaade ke liye hai yeh chota sa gift. Maine kaha Allah usko hamesha khus rakkhey aur naya Bumrah baney. Good luck. Masha Allah! (Brother, you are very blessed. This is a small gift for your prince. I prayed Allah to keep him happy always, and make a new Bumrah of him. Good luck. Masha Allah!"
 
Acknowledging to Shaheen's gesture on X, Bumrah said, "Beautiful gesture, my family and I are overwhelmed with the love! Best wishes always.@iShaheenAfridi."
 
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) took their X (formerly Twitter) handle to post his beautiful video.
 
"Love and peace. Congratulations @Jaspritbumrah93 and family on the birth of your child. Prayers for the entire family. We battle on the field. Off the field we are just your regular humans," Shaheen tweeted as he shared the video of him giving a gift to Bumrah.

Bumrah and his wife Sanjana Ganesan were blessed with a baby boy on September 4. He had left for Mumbai on September 3 amid the ongoing Asia Cup to welcome his child. (UNI)
