New Delhi: Karnataka emerged champions of the prestigious Vijay Hazare Trophy for the third time in the history of the tournament after thrashing Saurashtra by 41 runs in the summit clash at the Feroz Shah Kotla cricket stadium here on Tuesday.
Chasing a 254-run target, Saurashtra succumbed before Karnataka's disciplined bowling attack as the entire side were bundled out on 212 runs in 46.3 overs. Saurashtra skipper Cheteshwar Pujara however, showed a terrific fight with a 94-run knock but lacked partnership to help his side guide home.Karnataka had earlier clinched the title in the 2013-14 and 2014-15 edition of the tournament.(UNI)
