In the first ODI against Australia, Indian cricket star Virat Kohli failed to make an impact as he was dismissed for a duck (0 runs) in Perth. Kohli faced eight deliveries before attempting a drive off Mitchell Starc, but Cooper Connolly took a brilliant catch at backward point. Along with Kohli, Rohit Sharma also fell cheaply — scoring only 8 runs before edging Josh Hazlewood’s delivery to the slip fielder.

How Virat Kohli Got Out
Both Rohit and Kohli’s return to the ODI lineup didn’t go as expected. Starc bowled a short-of-a-good-length delivery outside off stump, drawing Kohli into a drive away from his body. The ball caught the outside edge and went straight to Connolly at backward point, who took a flying catch.
Interestingly, this was the first time Kohli was dismissed for a duck in an ODI on Australian soil.
