WATCH: Ross Taylor receives guard of honour from Bangladesh as he walked out to bat in his final Test
, Monday, 10 January 2022 (13:41 IST)
New Zealand’s veteran batsman Ross Taylor was given a guard of honour by Bangladesh team as he walked out for his final Test innings.

Ahead of the two-match Test series against Bangladesh, Taylor had announced that he would retire from international cricket at the end of the ongoing domestic season.

Taylor could be seen taking off his helmet as he walked in in response to Bangladesh giving him the guard of honour and shook Bangladesh captain Mominul Haque's hand before taking guard.

"Today I'm announcing my retirement from international cricket at the conclusion of the home summer, two more tests against Bangladesh, and six ODI’s against Australia and the Netherlands. Thank you for 17 years of incredible support. It’s been an honour to represent my country," Taylor tweeted while announcing his retirement.

The 37-year-old batsman represented his nation in 110 Test, 233 ODIs and 102 T20I.
