Chennai: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) skipper Pat Cummins admitted that his team was outplayed in the final against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in a low scoring final at the Chepauk Stadium here on Sunday night.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Cummins, who top scored with 24 after their batters failed collectively and lost wickets at regular intervals, said the KKR bowlers bowled fantastically.

Cummins decision to bat first on a wicket that offered swing and seam movement backfired as the team was bundled out for 113 in 18.3 overs, and the KKR batsmen overhauled it in double quick time for its third IPL crown, in a venue where it won its first title in 2012.

It turned out to be a low scoring final in IPL history, as SRH which had breached 250-plus scores in the league phase, failed to deliver when it mattered most.

Cummins said "I thought they bowled fantastically. Obviously not enough tonight. We were outplayed".

"They didn't give us anything. Just like the last game in Ahmedabad. It was a tricky wicket. Didn't feel like a 200-plus wicket. 160 would have given us a chance. The style of our play, particularly with the bat, scoring 250 three times. So it was a great season", Cummins said.

"I had not worked with many of the guys before but it was great working with them. A really great squad and the staff was amazing. Had a great time. We play a lot in India but in front of a sea of blue. So it was good to have crowd on our side at times", he added.
