Antigua: West Indies batter Shai Hope once again marshalled West Indies in an ODI, contributing with his 17th century in the format to guide West Indies to a strong total in the second ODI against England here.

Hope is now the third-highest in terms of hundreds scored by West Indians in ODIs.

He equalled the legendary Desmond Haynes on century count and only has Brian Lara and Chris Gayle ahead of him.

Hope walked in at No.4 with West Indies in a spot of bother, having lost both openers for single-digit scores.

Alongside Keacy Carty, Hope rebuilt the innings for the hosts. The duo combined in a partnership of 143 runs to push England onto the backfoot.

Carty was dismissed for 71 by Adil Rashid, but Hope continued to add to England's misery alongside Sherfane Rutherford, who is on a dream run in ODIs himself, an ICC report said.

Rutherford smashed his fourth successive half-century in ODIs while Hope went on to complete his 17th century as West Indies built a solid total. Hope was finally dismissed for 117 in the 47th over.

Interestingly, last year, at this very same venue, Hope had smashed a hundred against England to help his team chase down a target of 326.
