Mumbai: “Words are inadequate to praise the Indian cricket team for winning the ICC T-20 World Cup last night, says Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.

Pawar, who is also president of the Maharashtra Olympic Association, in his statement issued on Friday night congratulated the T-20 World Cup-winning Indian team.

He said that, after seventeen years, the Indian cricket team won the T20 World Cup, and the joy it gave to the countrymen is indescribable. The entire country is overwhelmed by this victory. Under the leadership of captain Rohit Sharma, the performance of the Indian team is like that of a world champion, he said.

Virat Kohli, Akshar Patel, and Shivam Dubey played a powerful but restrained knock and set the record for most runs. Suryakumar Yadav's catch and Jasprit Bumrah's bowling were unforgettable.

This success has been achieved due to the contribution of every player in the team and the wishes of all the countrymen.

This success of the Indian cricket team will give life to cricket and other sports in the country as well as inspire the players.

I heartily congratulate the Indian team for winning the ICC T-20 World Cup,” added Pawar.
