WPL 2025: Royal Challengers Bengaluru clinch 11-run thrilling victory over Mumbai Indians

Mumbai: Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) Women secured a thrilling 11-run victory over Mumbai Indians Women in an encounter at Brabourne Stadium here on Tuesday.
 
Sent into bat, RCB posted an imposing total of 199 for 3 in their 20 overs, riding on stellar knocks from skipper Smriti Mandhana (53 off 37), Ellyse Perry (49* off 38), and Richa Ghosh (36 off 22).
 
Georgia Wareham provided the late impetus with a quickfire 31 off 10 deliveries. The innings saw some aggressive strokeplay, with Mandhana leading from the front before falling to Amelia Kerr.
 
For Mumbai Indians, Hayley Matthews (2/37) and Amelia Kerr (1/47) were among the wickets, but the bowling unit struggled to contain RCB's batswomen.
 
Chasing 200 for victory, Mumbai Indians fought valiantly but fell short, finishing at 188 for 9 in their allotted overs. Nat Sciver-Brunt was the standout performer, smashing 69 off 35 balls in a valiant effort.
 
Captain Harmanpreet Kaur (20 off 18) and Sajeevan Sajana (23 off 12) made useful contributions, but regular breakthroughs by RCB’s bowlers kept them in check.
 
Sneh Rana (3/26) was the pick of the bowlers for RCB, claiming crucial wickets, while Ellyse Perry (2/53) and Kim Garth (2/33) provided valuable support. Heather Graham also chipped in with a wicket, helping RCB secure a vital win.
