Yorkshire have signed India batter Ruturaj Gaikwad for the latter part of the County Championship season.Gaikwad will be available for the final five games of the Division One campaign, beginning with the match against Surrey in Scarborough on July 22.

The 28-year-old will also be able to play in the One-Day Cup, which takes place in August.
Gaikwad, who captains Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League and Maharashtra in
the Ranji Trophy, has played six One-Day Internationals and 23 T20s for his country, the BBC
reported.

However, he only managed five games in this year's IPL as he picked up an elbow injury.
Gaikwad was named in the India A squad for their two recent matches with England Lions but
did not feature in either.

"I'm extremely pleased to see Ruturaj sign with us for the second half of the season," Yorkshire head coach Anthony McGrath told the club website on Tuesday."He is a very accomplished cricketer with a natural all-round game that is well suited to the cricket we want to play."(UNI)<>
