Never Buy Shoes on These Days — Vastu Warning You Shouldn’t Ignore

Advertiesment
when not to buy shoes
In Vastu Shastra and astrology, shoes and slippers are believed to influence a home’s energy, financial stability, and overall harmony. According to Vastu experts, ignoring certain Vastu guidelines related to footwear may increase negative energy in the house and lead to financial, emotional, or health-related disturbances.

Why Is Buying Shoes on Certain Days Considered Inauspicious?

Vastu experts advise against purchasing shoes or slippers on:
  • Amavasya (New Moon day)
  • Tuesday
  • Saturday
  • Eclipse days
According to Vastu and astrological beliefs, negative planetary energies are more active on these days. Since footwear is associated with “Rajoguna” (active/material energy), buying them during such periods may attract financial strain, conflicts, or health issues into the home.

Tuesday and Saturday are influenced by Mars and Saturn. Amavasya and eclipse periods are linked to ancestral energies and Rahu-Ketu effects. It is believed that purchasing new footwear on these days may disturb peace and bring obstacles.

Places Where You Should Not Wear Shoes or Slippers

While opening a locker or safe: It is considered disrespectful to Goddess Lakshmi and may lead to financial instability.

Inside the kitchen or storage area: This may affect trust and harmony within the family.

Near rivers, ponds, or pilgrimage sites: Such places are regarded as spiritually pure.

Inside temples, religious places, or hospitals: Entering with footwear is considered inauspicious and may disrupt positive energy.

Other Inauspicious Signs Related to Footwear

  • If shoes, slippers, socks, or leather items are stolen from a temple, religious site, or hospital, it is traditionally considered a sign that impending misfortune has been averted.
  • If footwear frequently tears or breaks at home, it may indicate Pitru Dosh or negative energy. In such cases, it is advised to replace them immediately and sprinkle Ganga water in the house for purification.

Vastu Rules for Storing and Using Shoes

  • Always keep footwear outside the house or neatly arranged in a shoe rack.
  • Do not place shoes inside the main entrance or near the puja area.
  • Avoid keeping shoes upside down.
  • It is considered auspicious to leave footwear outside at night.
  • After buying new shoes, sprinkle Ganga water on them for purification.
  • Keeping an odd number of footwear pairs at home is believed to be better.
