In a shocking incident, a 25-year-old man was allegedly killed by a contract killer hired by his wife, and her lover just 15 days after their marriage in Uttar Pradesh's Auraiya district.
The police arrested all three accused - the wife, the lover and the contract killer - who were identified from CCTV footage.
According to police, Pragati Yadav and Anurag Yadav had been in a relationship for four years before Pragati's family arranged her marriage to Dilip on March 5. Unable to meet after the wedding, Pragati and Anurag allegedly conspired to eliminate Dilip. They hired a contract killer, Ramaji Chaudhary, and paid him Rs 2 lakh to murder Dilip.
The victim was found severely injured with bullet wounds in a field on March 19. He was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries on March 21.
This case bears a resemblance to the Meerut murder case, where a wife and her lover were arrested for killing her husband, Saurabh Rajput. The accused in that case, Muskan Rastogi and Sahil Shukla, are currently lodged in prison and undergoing treatment for drug addiction issues.
