Agra (UP): A 30-year-old manager of a private company allegedly upset with his wife hanged himself and committed suicide after recording a video message in Sadar area of Agra district here in Uttar Pradesh, police sources said here on Friday.
Police sources said that the deceased Manav Sharma was working as a recruitment manager in TCS vompany, Mumbai and was a resident of Defence Colony. "His father Narendra Sharma retired from the Air Force and Manav was his only son," they said.
Police sources said that in his complaint lodged on Thursday Narendra Sharma has alleged that Manav got married on January 30, 2024. "The complainant has alleged that after marriage, Manav's wife started harassing him after which he took her wife with him to Mumbai. Narendra Sharma has alleged that his daughter-in-law used to threaten to commit suicide," they said.
Police sources said that on February 23, Manav came to Agra from Mumbai with his wife, from where he went to Barhan to leave her. "On February 24 morning, Manav committed suicide by hanging himself from the fan in his room," they said.
Police sources said that before committing suicide Manav recorded a 6.57 minute video. "In the morning, when his family members saw Manav hanging from the fan, they took him to the hospital but by then he had died," they said.
Police sources said that in the video recorded before committing suicide Manav could be seen crying and said that please think of men too, please, someone should talk about men. "Poor guys are very lonely. Papa, mummy, sorry, Akku, sorry. Everything will be fine once I am gone, please do not trouble my family about my suicide," he stated.
34-year-old techie Atul Subhash, originally from Samastipur in Bihar, committed suicide in his Bengaluru home on December 9, leaving behind a heartbreaking video where he claimed to be extorted for crores of rupees by his estranged wife, Nikita Singhania, and her family.
