A woman from Sikar, Rajasthan has filed an FIR against a temple priest Baba Balaknath accusing him of sexual assault. The woman has also named two of his associates in the FIR.
Baba Balaknath is priest of Kshetrapal Temple in Khedi Datunjala in Sikar district.
In her statement to the police, the woman alleged that the incident took place after she was fed a spiked prasad by Baba Balaknath. She further claimed that the priest and his accomplices threatened her with dire consequences if she told anyone about the incident.
According to the FIR, the woman was introduced to Baba Balaknath by a man named Rajesh during a visit to the Kshetrapal Temple. The Baba allegedly claimed that he could resolve her family problems by Tantra Vidya. The priest gave her ‘prasad’ on multiple occasions, but one day, while offering to drop her home, he gave her a peda. After eating that sweet, she lost consciousness and Baba Balaknath touched her inappropriately and raped her multiple times. During the assault, his driver recorded a video of the incident.
The woman claimed that following the incident, the accused continued to harass her, demanding she visit them regularly. They also allegedly threatened to post the video online if she refused to comply or attempted to report the incident.
The video surfaced on social media on Sunday and quickly went viral, following which the woman registered a rape case against the Baba.
