Bengaluru Rapido driver detained for slapping woman after 'Go back to your country' remark; CCTV reveals she hit him first - WATCH

A shocking incident involving a Rapido bike taxi driver and a woman commuter has sparked debate across the country. The driver was detained after allegedly slapping a woman and telling her to "go back to your country" during an argument in Bengaluru. However, newly surfaced CCTV footage has added a twist to the case—showing that the woman allegedly hit him first.

The incident reportedly occurred in Bengaluru’s Jayanagar area. The woman, who reportedly works at a jewellery store, booked a Rapido ride. According to reports, an argument broke out between the two after the woman confronted the Rapido driver over rash driving after getting off mid-ride. During the verbal exchange, the woman accused the driver of slapping her and making a racist comment: “Go back to your country.” A viral video showed the driver slapping her, which threw on onto the ground.

Following her complaint, the Rapido driver was detained by local police and questioned under relevant sections.

However, a CCTV footage from a nearby building has now emerged and appears to show the woman initiating physical contact—slapping the driver first during the argument. The driver is then seen reacting and slapping her back.
