Bihar: Cop mistakenly lathi-charges SDM during Bharat Bandh in Patna, VIDEO goes viral

Patna: In a rare incident a policeman mistakenly lathi-charged the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) in Patna during the Bharat bandh called by theorganisations associated with Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs) to oppose a recent Supreme Court order related to the creamy layer in reservations.
 
The security personnel resorted to lathi charge to disperse the unruly mob protesting at the busy Dak bunglow road in Patna, the state capital of Bihar.
 
In due course a policeman mistakenly lathi-charged the SDM, video of which went viral.
 
The SDM was present at the spot in an informal dress due to which the cops mistakenly understood him as one of the protesters and hit him with the stick ( lathi).

Meanwhile the bandh evoked mixed response in Bihar where the road traffic got disrupted in some of the pockets for some time following the demonstration of the protestors.Vehicular movements in Patna were partially affected.Some examinees of a competitive test for recruitment of constables also faced difficulties in reaching examination centres due to the protests.
 
According to the reports pouring in here from different districts, the protestors took out procession and tried to disrupt road traffic. The protestors also demonstrated at the railway track at some places.
 
The administration was on alert and the security arrangements were tightened following which no untoward incident was reported from any corner of the state where the bandh was by and large peaceful.
