BIZARRE! Wife demands fee for sex from husband in Taiwan, couple gets divorce

In a weird case of divorce, a husband in Taiwan accused his wife of demanding fees from him each time he wanted sex.

The court granted him divorce on the grounds that his wife refused to have sex with him, reported Taiwan television station SETN.

The divorce plea was opposed by the wife when it was filed by the husband.

In 2014, the couple got married and had two children. The man claimed that his wife rationed sex to once a month in 2017, and later started rejecting sex completely in 2019, without giving any reason.

The man said that the wife told their relatives that the husband was “too fat” and “incompetent”.

In 2021, the husband filed for divorce but the wife promised that she would work on their relationship, so the man decided to withdraw the lawsuit and even registered their property in her name.

However, the husband complained that his wife continued to abuse him emotionally and demanded a fee of NT$500 (US$15) every time he wanted to have sex or even talk to her.

The husband again filed for divorce this year and said that they have not spoken to each other for two years and have only been speaking to each other through a messaging app when they needed to.

They had also tried marriage counselling but that did not help. The judge granted divorce to the couple because their relationship was “cold and difficult to fix”.

However, the wife did not want to divorce, and appealed to a higher court, where her plea was rejected.
