In a shocking incident, a reckless car driver ran over two girls making rangoli outside their homes in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
The incident occurred on Monday evening in Jai Bhawani Nagar under Aerodrome police station limits. After running over the girls, the car crashed into a shop.
A nearby CCTV camera captured the entire incident; showing the girls sitting outside their houses making rangoli for Diwali when the speeding SUV struck them and then crashing into a shop.
Locals rushed to the girls and sent them to the hospital, where one is said to be in critical condition. Agitated by the incident, people vandalised the car and they reportedly found liquor bottles inside the vehicle. The driver fled the scene after the accident.
The injured girls have been identified as Priyanshi (21), daughter of Pawan Prajapat, and Navya (13), daughter of Anand Prajapat.
Additional DCP Alok Kumar Sharma said the police have detained the accused driver who is a minor. A case of culpable homicide under section 110 of the BNS has been registered.
