In a deeply disturbing development from Kolkata, CCTV footage recovered by police has confirmed the harrowing allegations made by a female law student who was allegedly gang-raped inside her college campus. The footage shows the survivor being forcibly dragged by two of the accused — including Manojit Mishra — near the college gate and pulled inside the premises.

According to police, the female student of South Calcutta Law College was allegedly gangraped by two senior students and a former student inside the guard’s room on the college campus.

In the video, she is seen hurriedly walking with a bag while Manojit Mishra and another accused follow closely before forcibly dragging her into the college.

Although the college has only three CCTV cameras — none covering the union room or guard room where the crime reportedly occurred — police have confirmed that the entry and exit timings of all involved have been captured.

Shocking Evidence Recovered: Hockey Stick and Disturbing Video

In the course of their investigation, the police have recovered a hockey stick allegedly used to assault the survivor after the rape. The stick has been seized as key physical evidence. Police also confiscated the clothes worn by Manojit Mishra during the incident, including a red kurta, light brown six-pocket pants, and black shorts.

Even more horrifying, investigators found a video recording of the incident on Manojit Mishra’s phone. According to police sources, the video was filmed by co-accused and fellow law students Zaib Ahmed and Pramit Mukherjee, allegedly at Mishra’s behest. The video, which clearly shows the survivor’s face, was reportedly intended for blackmail. It has been sent to a cyber forensic lab for examination.

Forensic experts also recovered hair strands from the crime scene, suggesting that the survivor resisted her attackers during the assault.

Disturbing Content Points to Pattern of Harassment

Further examination of Manojit Mishra’s phone has revealed multiple morphed pornographic images featuring the faces of several female students. These explicit images were reportedly shared in various WhatsApp groups, prompting police to investigate whether this points to a broader ring of digital harassment within the college.

Rejected Marriage Proposal May Have Sparked Attack

According to police statements, the motive for the crime appears to stem from the survivor’s rejection of Mishra’s proposal. She reportedly told him she was already in a relationship and had no interest in betraying her partner. Investigators believe this rejection triggered the assault.

Four Arrested So Far

The assault allegedly took place on June 25 inside the law college campus. The survivor filed a police complaint on June 26, a day after the incident. So far, four people have been arrested in connection with the case — Manojit Mishra, Promit Mukherjee, Zaid Ahmed, and the college guard. Mishra is accused of raping the student, while the others were allegedly involved in filming and facilitating the crime.
