Uttar Pradesh Minister and BJP leader Sanjay Singh Gangwar said that cleaning a cowshed and lying there can cure cancer. He also claimed that stroking a cow's back can lower blood pressure.
Gangwar made these bizarre statement during the inauguration of the Kanha Gaushala in UP's Nougawa Pakadiya.
“Blood pressure could be cured by stroking the back of the cow. There are cows here and people should stroke a cow on its back every morning and evening and serve it. After doing this, if the person was taking a 20 mg dose of blood pressure medicine, it would come down to 10 mg within 10 days. It is a tested formula,” the minister said in Hindi during the event.
He also urged Muslims to come to the cowshed on Eid. He said, "The vermicelli made on Eid should be made in cow's milk."
"Our effort is to connect people with the gaushalas. People have also been requested to celebrate their wedding anniversaries, their children's birthdays with the cows and donate fodder to the gaushala," the minister said.
Gangwar had contested the 2012 assembly election on a BSP ticket but lost. He then joined the BJP in 2017 and won election from the Pilibhit seat. He again won the election in 2022 and was made a minister.
