Pakistan police have arrested the four men after a video surfaced on social media showing them cutting a woman’s nose allegedly for refusing to have relations with them in Dera Ghazi Khan.
According to Pakistani media, the shocking incident took place around 8 months ago in Shah Saddardin area of DG Khan district but the Police didn’t take any action in this matter on the pretext that “no complaint was filed” of the incident.
As per reports, Zafar Lashari, the prime accused, and three others had been forcing a woman, Salmi, to have relations with them, but she refused. The suspect then cut the nose of the woman with a knife and his friends recorded the act with a mobile phone camera.
The viral video shows the woman's feet tied with a cloth while she pleads for her life. The disturbing footage shows the accused cutting her nose with a sharp knife, with blood dripping down.
After the video started doing rounds, the National Commission of Human Rights of Pakistan took notice of the incident and sought a report from DG Khan District Police Officer (DPO) Syed Ali. The DPO ordered arrest of the suspects, including Zafar Lashari, Safdar and two others.
Then, on the complaint of the victim’s sister, Shah Saddardin police on Sunday arrested the suspects and registered cases under sections 334, 511 and 354 of Pakistan Penal Code.
