Hyderabad: Woman jumps from moving MMTS train to escape rape attempt

Hyderabad: In a horrifying incident on an MMTS train, a young woman (23) sustained serious injuries after jumping from a moving train to escape an alleged rape attempt.

The incident took place in Kompally when the woman, who was travelling alone in a women's coach, was targeted by a young man (25) in the same compartment.

Fearing for her safety, she leapt from the train, suffering severe injuries. Locals who witnessed the incident rushed her to Secunderabad Gandhi Hospital, where she is currently receiving treatment.

GRP police have recorded her statement, registered a case, and launched a manhunt for the accused.

The victim, a resident of Anantapur district, was working in a private company in Medchal and residing in a hostel. She was travelling back to Medchal on the evening of March 22 when the horrifying incident occurred.

The police have intensified efforts to track down the suspect.
