Kolhapur: In a controversial statement against women, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Rajya Sabha MP Dhananjay Mahadik on Saturday urged party workers to click photos and get the names of 'Ladki Bahin' yojana beneficiaries seen in Congress rallies and promised to "make their arrangements".
"Women, who take Rs 1500 of 'Ladki Bahin' yojana, if they are seen in Congress rallies, then take their photographs and names, we will make their arrangement."
He made the remark while addressing a election campaign in Kolhapur -south constituency for his nephew and BJP candidate Amal Mahadik.
He said "We would not tolerate if anyone 'takes money from the goverment but shows the cloven hoof towards Congress."
Meanwhile, district Congress president Satej Patil, who is in the city for an election campaign, protested against Mahadik's statement and demanded he seek pardon from women of the state.
