The act drew widespread public outrage and prompted swift police action, leading to their re-arrest.

Police said the behaviour of the accused amounted to a breach of public order and was seen as an affront to the gravity of the charges against them. They were produced before a local magistrate who remanded them in judicial custody until June 2.

Police said further action will be taken as per law, and additional charges may be invoked in connection with the rally.
