Shivamogga: Madhya Pradesh BJP MP Sadhvi Pragya Thakur on Monday asked Hindus to give a reply to those who do love jihad in their language and keep their vegetable-cutting knives sharp kept at homes to defend themselves.
"Give a reply to those who do love jihad in their (violent) language. Keep your girls safe. Educate them. Keep weapons in your homes. If there is nothing, keep your knives sharp which are used for cutting vegetables. I am making it very clear," Thakur said.
She added: "They stabbed Harsha with a knife. They have also stabbed our heroes, Hindu heroes, workers of Bajrang Dal, BJP workers, and Yuva morcha workers with knives. So let us also keep our knives a little sharp."
"We don't know when, what incident will take place. When our vegetables will be cut properly, then surely the faces and heads of the enemies will also be cut with an ease," Thakur said, addressing the Hindu Jagarana Vedike’s South Region annual convention at Shivamogga.
Targeting those who indulge in love jihad, Thakur said, "They have a tradition of jihad. Even if they love, they do jihad in that. We (Hindus) too love, love the god; a sanyasi loves his god."
Meanwhile, Congress has criticised Thakur for flaring up communal tension via "provocative" statements. Whenever BJP feels its is "losing" elections, they think they can win by instigating people on communal lines. "They should be taken to task," Congress MLA Ajay Singh said.
Thakur is an elected representative and an MP, she is not be permitted to make such statements. (UNI)
