In shocking case of medical negligence, a doctor allegedly left a piece of cloth inside a woman's abdomen during cesarean delivery in a hospital in Madhya Pradesh. The woman remained in pain for 9 months, following which the foreign object was removed from her abdomen through a complex surgery.

As per Naidunia report, the 35-year-old woman, a resident of Nardha village near Khurai, underwent a C-section on September 6 last year at the Mission Hospital in Khurai and gave birth to a baby girl.

Three months after the delivery, the woman began experiencing abdominal pain. Her family took her to several doctors in Bina, Jhansi, Gwalior and Sagar, but she didn’t get relief.

On August 23, the woman suddenly experienced severe pain and fell unconscious. Her family rushed her to Bhagyoday Hospital in Sagar. After sonography and X-ray, the doctors suspected a foreign object in her stomach.

A team of doctors conducted a complex three-hour surgery and removed a handkerchief like cloth from her abdomen. Doctor said that preliminary findings suggest it can be handkerchief, but further investigation is required to determine exactly what it is. The woman’s condition is now stable.
