A horrifying case of sexual assault of a Class 8 student by senior students has come to light in a school in Narmadapuram district of Madhya Pradesh. All the accused are Class 9 students.
The student and his family member lodged the complaint on Monday in Dehat (rural) police station.
"The student was studying in the government-run boarding school since July 2022 and was living in its hostel, where his five senior students sexually exploited him multiple times," Dehat (rural) police station in-charge Praveen Chouhan said.
The victim alleged that he was being sexually assaulted for nearly two years.
As per reports, when other students came to know about the incident, they started teasing him, due to which he slipped into depression. When the family came to know about his deteriorating health condition, they took their child home from school.
Then the student shared his ordeal to his father, who complained to the school principal about the incident. However, the principal did not take any action in the matter, following which they approached the police.
As per the complaint, the boy was last sexually exploited in December 2023, he said.
The accused are booked under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 377 (unnatural sex), 294 (obscene act), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation) besides provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
