A dead body of 22 year-old woman identified as Yashashri Shinde was found in a mutilated state in Uran taluka in Navi Mumbai. Her private parts, including the genital and chest area, were brutally stabbed. She had been missing for the last two days.
The police have taken custody of her dead body for a post-mortem examination. The parents of the girl have accused one Dawood Sheikh of killing her.
On Friday (July 26) night, the police got a call that a woman’s dead body was lying in a pool of blood on the road and stray dogs were eating it. Police rushed to the spot to recover the body. The dead body reportedly sustained several stab injuries on her chest, waist, back and her private parts. Some reports also suggested that her bones were broken.
The crime has drawn significant attention and demands for justice. The police have started an investigation.
As per police, Dawood was previously arrested for allegedly molesting Yashashree when she was a minor in 2019. After coming out of jail, he went to his hometown in Karnataka. However, call records suggested that she was talking to the accused for several hours.
Police suspect that he traveled to Uran, as verified by his location data, where he allegedly murdered her before fleeing the scene.
Police teams have been sent to Karnataka to arrest Dawood. And only after the arrest of this accused will the reason behind this murder be clear.
Significantly, earlier on July 25 (Thursday) a case was originally filed by Yashashri Shinde's parents regarding her disappearance. However, on Saturday, two days later, her body was found in a very dreadful condition. Several injury marks were reported on her body. Her face was disfigured due to nibbling by stray dogs, who had even eaten her shoulder flesh. She was identified by her clothes and a tattoo.
