Noida: A woman was arrested by the Noida police for assaulting an e-rickshaw driver, whose vehicle allegedly grazed her car. A video of the incident went viral on social media on Saturday.
The incident reportedly took place in Sector 110 market under Phase 2 police station.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP) Ankita Sharma told UNI that a case has been lodged against the woman.
In the viral video, the woman is seen slapping the e-rickshaw driver after his vehicle grazed her car. While the e-rickshaw driver pleads with her, while she continues slapping him at least 17 times, all the while hurling abuses.
The e-rickshaw driver pleads that he was in a hurry as one of his relatives has passed away, to which the woman replied in Hindi that translates to "You haven't passed away, you are still alive."
The woman, who has been identified, is also seen snatching a mobile phone from him and some cash from the driver before leaving the spot.
She even asks the driver to hand over the keys of his e-rickshaw.
Sharma said that a case has been lodged against the women and she has been booked under IPC section 151. (UNI)
