Bhubaneswar: In a heart rendering incident, an Additional District Magistrate(ADM) collapsed while attending a programme at a party at Paralakhemundi in Odisha’s Gajapati district.
Police sources said Birendra Das was singing on the stage during a ceremony,organised by the officials of the Parlakhemundi on Wednesday night when he collapsed on the stage.
He was immediately rushed to Paralakhemundi District Headquarters Hospital and then shifted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital at Berhampur where the doctors declared him dead.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has expressed grief over the demise of the ADM.
In his condolence message,Majhi said Das has worked for the welfare of the people as a sincere, dedicated and responsible officer.
Das was also highly praised for his administrative efficiency in various circles ,Majhi said and conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family members while stating that Odisha has lost a dynamic and efficient officer in his demise.
