A shocking case of cruelty has emerged from the Bijolia area of Bhilwara district, Rajasthan. A newborn baby, barely 10–15 days old, was found abandoned in the forest near the Sita Mata Kund temple in horrifying condition. The infant’s mouth had been stuffed with a stone, sealed with Feviquick, and the child was left hidden among rocks to die.
Shepherds Hear Crying, Save the Baby
The incident took place on Tuesday evening when a shepherd, while grazing his cattle, heard faint cries coming from the rocky area near the temple. On investigating, he was stunned to find the newborn writhing in pain. He quickly alerted nearby villagers, who rushed to the spot, freed the child, and informed the Bijolia police. An ambulance was called immediately, and the baby was taken to the hospital.
Villager Bhanwar Singh said the child was discovered buried among stones, crying in agony. “We pulled him out and called the police and ambulance right away,” he added.
Doctors on the Child’s Condition
The newborn was admitted to the town hospital. According to Dr. Mukesh Dhakad, the child had severe injuries. “His mouth was injured due to Feviquick, and the left side of his body was badly burned from heat. After first aid, his condition has stabilized,” the doctor said.
Child Welfare Team Steps In
The Bhilwara Child Welfare Team was immediately notified. Vinod Rao, a member of the team, ensured that the baby was shifted to the Ayushu ward of the pediatric unit at Mahatma Gandhi Hospital, Bhilwara. The child is under constant care, and the process has begun to move him to a foster home once his health improves.
