A video of a car plunging from the first floor of a multi-level parking facility in a Pune housing society has been doing the rounds on the Internet.
The incident occurred at Shubh Apartment in Viman Nagar at around 10 am on Sunday. The car's sudden fall caused a moment of panic, but fortunately, no one was seriously injured.
The viral footage shows a black Honda City breaking through the wall of the first-floor parking lot before plunging to the ground. The people can be seen rushing to the scene. The driver managed to escape without serious injuries.
According to preliminary reports, the accident occurred due to a mistake by the driver, who reversed the car instead of moving forward.
Several social media users questioned the construction quality of the wall. One social media user wrote, “See the wall construction quality of Builder."
“Is there any wall provided for the safety of the residents? it just came down without any obstruction. Such parking can be dangerous. Why elevator was not used?" asked another user.
A third commented, “As per speed I think it is an automatic car. Indians purchase automatic cars but they don’t know the basics and how they work! Nowadays, you will find more automatic cars involved in accidents in India."
