Preparing for Comeback

The 38-year-old opener has been training in Mumbai under the guidance of former India assistant coach Abhishek Nayar. Recently, he also underwent a fitness test at the BCCI's National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru alongside other Indian players.

While India's T20I squad led by Suryakumar Yadav has already landed in the UAE for the Asia Cup 2025, Rohit is still waiting for his next international outing. Having retired from Tests and T20Is, he is now a one- format player and is expected to lead India during the ODI series against Australia in October-November.

Possible India A Stint

Before that, reports suggest Rohit may feature for India A in a three-match one-day series against Australia A. The matches are scheduled at Green Park Stadium, Kanpur from September 30 to October 5.

Last International Appearance

Rohit last played for India in the 2025 Champions Trophy final in Dubai, where his 76 off 83 deliveries earned him the Player of the Match award. His innings powered India to a successful chase of 252 runs, securing the title.
