Saree, bindi, lipstick, necklace: 22-yr-old male staffer found dead in women attire at Mussoorie IAS Training Academy

A 22-year-old man, working as a multi-tasking staffer at Mussoorie's IAS training academy, was found dead in his residence on Thursday. His body was found dressed in saree, and wearing make-up - lipstick, bindi and necklace.

The deceased has been identified as Anukul Rawat, a resident of Pauri Garhwal in Uttarakhand.

Rawat was recently employed by the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration and living alone at his government accommodation.

According to Police, they were informed about the suicide at LBS academy by a Home Guard posted at Happy Valley Police Station in Mussoorie. When the police reached the spot, the door of Anukul's residence was locked from inside. It was after the door was broken, that he was found hanging from the noose inside.

According to the officials, preliminary information suggests that Anukul committed suicide due to some mental troubles. However, no suicide note has been found on the spot.

The police have informed the relatives and launched an investigation into the suicide.

Anukul was not coming to the office, which prompted his collogues to go check on him. They reached his residence and knocked on the door but there was no response. When the staff members peeped inside from a window and they found him hanging.

In a similar incident, Assistant Manager (Air Traffic Control) Ashish Chausali was also found dead with make-up on - with a bindi on his forehead and lipstick on his lips, in Uttarakhand's Pantnagar in June.
