New Delhi: Shiv Sena leader and Rajya Sabha MP Priyanka Chaturvedi on Tuesday hit back at Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra 'Teni' on his "dogs" remark and said he was using goons' language as he has the backing of the Central government.
Chaturvedi tweeted: "The MoS Home describing his son’s driving skills. Is the reference to dogs to the mowing down of farmers and journalist-human lives that were taken by the power drunk family? Do note, the government of India protected him. Due to this, (he) continues to speak the language of goons."
After a three-day protest by the United Kisan Morcha, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Teni has described Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait as "a worthless man" and compared him with a dog. A video is also going viral on the social media.
"Suppose I am travelling to Lucknow in a car and it's going at a good speed. Dogs bark. They bark on the roadside or chase the car. It's their nature. I will not say anything about that. We do not have this nature. Things will reveal themselves and I will respond to everyone. I am very confident because of your support," the minister is heard saying in the video.
"No one in the world will be able to disappoint you. No matter how many Rakesh Tikaits come - I know him very well, 'do kaudi ka aadmi hai', he fought two elections and lost his deposit (lost badly). If such a person protests, I do not respond. If his politics survives because of this, let it. I have never done anything wrong in my life," he added.
On Teni's statement, Tikait said: "He is a man of stature, I am a small man. We went with 50,000-60,000 people to (Lakhimpur) for three days. It's obvious that a man will say something out of anger. His son is behind bars for the last one year. It's obvious that the man will get angry."
The BKU leader said he does not pay heed to the Minister's statement as he works on the ground.
"This time we went for three days, next time we will stay there for 13 days. The Lakhimpur Mukti campaign will continue as goonda raj prevails there," Tikait said.(Inputs from UNI)
