A drunk passenger was arrested after allegedly assaulting a Delta Air Lines employee and causing chaos at Salt Lake City International Airport before a flight to Portland, Oregon.
According to a report by the New York Post, Cody Sierra Marie Bryne, 31, was taken into custody on Wednesday and charged with sexual battery, assault, and public intoxication following the incident.
Court documents reveal that Bryne initially refused to move out of the airplane aisle while passengers were boarding. When she finally shifted, she allegedly slammed her shoulder into a Delta worker, pushing the employee backward into a seat. The pilot then ordered her off the flight.
As she was being escorted off, Bryne reportedly attempted to run into a secure section of the terminal. When blocked, she grabbed a female employee by the neck, pulled her hair, and forced her head downward. Moments later, she allegedly grabbed the same employee’s breast, twisted it, and shouted a threat: “If I ever find you alone b—-,” according to the affidavit.
Police said Bryne then bolted toward the airport exit and was later spotted trying to purchase a ticket with another airline before officers arrested her.
The disturbing outburst has raised concerns about airline staff safety, as the investigation continues.
